168. I stand corrected by a loyal reader about some information which I falsely presented yesterday, Michael Jack Schmidt, the Hall of Fame third baseman who played his entire career for the Philadelphia Phillies DID NOT attend Fairmont High School. Rather, he attended Fairview High School in Dayton - home of the Bulldogs. Another famous Fairview High School alum was Olympic Champion Edwin C. Moses. Joe believes that Fairview High School closed in the early 80's when it became an elementary school. Very interesting and a great find - hat tip to loyal reader, Joe!!!
